The Capital Markets team is responsible for support of software applications used by the Fixed Income, equity and futures businesses. These include locally developed, vendor and internally developed applications. This role reports to the Applications Manager and is responsible for delivery of technical solutions to the business.
Key requirements:
Strong understanding of Fixed Income products particularly with bonds
Involved in developing software development solutions for Fixed Income products
Strong capabilities in Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques/methodologies
Sound knowledge of Java, C++ and C#
Sound knowledge of Crystal Reports and Jasper reports
Sound knowledge of Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase) and UNIX (Solaris and/or Linux)
Experience with Shell and Perl Scripting.
Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies including associated software development life-cycles
Ability to conceive technical solution that best meets business requirements taking into account recommended technologies, non-functional requirements, internal policies and procedures, effort and schedule
Knowledge of Fixed Income products and markets is highly desirable.
Knowledge of market data applications (Bloomberg) is desirable
Good problem solving/troubleshooting skills and assist in support duties when required.
Experience in the project management area, including a familiarity with Project Management tools and frameworks.
Understanding of methodologies including associated software development life-cycles.
Knowledge of Capital Markets Business processes.
Experience/understanding of technology concepts, practices and frameworks would be advantageous.
Ability to convey technical details to the business and successfully manage multiple work requests.
Excellent formal training and experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques/methodologies and related tools.
Extensive experience with analysis and design gained preferably in a financial trading systems environment.
Solid experience in performance analysis and tuning of applications.
Experience in documenting, coordinating and conducting Unit, System/Integration and User Acceptance Testing.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance and/or IT.
