Our client is looking for Senior Database Administrator to implement management processes for database quality enhancement. You will also undertake regular database management and programming tasks to meet the business needs.

In this role you will be responsible for;

  • Reviewing current database design and performance.
  • Reviewing database maintenance and monitoring process.
  • Reviewing data import and other related data transfer process.
  • Proposing solutions to improve current database design and process in line with industry's best practices.
  • Participating and contributing to all SQL related application and infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Developing and enforcing database standards.
  • Performing database load/stress tests and performance turning.
  • Developing regular or ad-hoc reports required by the business.
  • Facilitating, authoring, reviewing detailed functional and technical design documents.
  • Transforming business requirements to database implementation tasks
  • Provide support for escalated client issues, analysing client issues, determining the cause and providing workarounds or resolutions where possible.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Proven experience in using MS SQL 2005 core features including failover design, license implications, SQL SSIS, Reporting Services, database replication and other key MS SQL server features
  • Proven experience in setting up database health monitoring process
  • Proven experience in load testing and performance optimisation using database performance diagnostics
  • Strong database schema and SQL query design skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice and guidance on SQL server database design and optimisation, security, recovery and tools usage.
  • High-level understanding in Microsoft .NET technologies, such as ASP.NET or WCF
