Senior Storage Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for a senior storage guru to work across the set up and administration of storage area networks and data migration between data centres. Large enterprise storage solution experience is essential for this position. Working across a major data centre migration and within a tier one organisation, this contract is an initial 6 months. This role requires a solid knowledge of DS8000 series disk and cross site replication technologies. Working in conjunction with BAU teams within the business across large migrations will mean that there will be after hours and weekend work components of this position.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and running of storage solutions project components
• Creation of standard solution documentation
• Complex system design and system/platform maintenance
• Administration and set up of Storage Area Networks

Essential skills for this position:

• Set up and administration of Storage Area Networks
• Working knowledge of CISCO MDS SAN Switches across Zoning and set up
• In depth experience with IBM disk systems in particular DS8000 series.
• Experience with cross site replication
• Experience across data migration within new disk and server platforms
• Working knowledge of Netapp appliances
• Working knowledge of HDS Enterprise Disk Systems
