You will be employed on a contract basis within an organization that is experiencing rapid activity and still delivering projects that are on the cutting edge of technology in the Australian IT market.

You will be performing the technology management of an exciting, sport-related platform, and executing and leading the implementation of development projects (ie. annual refresh of the site)

You will have an excellent, generalist IT background with substantial experience maintaining and designing windows based solutions in a networked environment coupled with hands-on windows system administration proficiency.
It is very important you remain flexible and open minded when designing solutions.

This role is varied and no two days will ever be the same.

Some of the responsibilities attached to this role are:

• Resolve Level 4 support problems on your specific platform
• Develop strategies to reduce, or at least maintain risks
• Execution of the technology implementation of the annual refresh project and other development projects
• Management of the vendors and driving the vendor development plans

You will have:

• Strong Unix/Linux, VMware etc.
• Experience with web technologies used in online platforms such as web Servers, application Servers, databases, web services and streaming
• Design experience in developing and/or maintaining online solutions
• An understanding of online concepts
• An understanding of IP Networks
• The ability to produce very well documented solutions
• Experience integrating vendor packaged solutions with Legacy applications
• Web applications such as Apache, JBoss, Java, XML
• Database Servers such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc
• Networking knowledge that includes VLANs, load balancers, tiered

Other skills that are highly regarded:

• Scripting experience such as Shell Scripting
• Web application security
• Video streaming technologies
• Understanding of Splunk technology is highly desirable
